Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and his rise to Stardom


Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is a professional footballer who plays mainly as left-winger for Italian Football Club SSC Napoli and Georgia national team. He was born on January 22, 1998, in Tbilisi, Georgia and began his youth career with Dinamo Tbilisi.

Making his professional debut in 2016 for the Georgian side Dinamo Tbilisi, he quickly became a key player for the club and was bought by another Georgian side called Rustavi before going to the Russian League to join the Moscow based Lokomotiv Moscow side where he won the Russian Cup. A few transfers back and forth between Georgia and Russia, he finally caught eye of the top Italian side. Kvaratskhelia earned the transfer to Napoli in 2022 summer transfer window.

Kvaratskhelia has also represented Georgia at various youth levels and made his senior debut for the national team in 2019. He has since become a regular for Georgia, scoring 10 goals in 19 appearances.

Playing from the left wing, his speed and dribbling skills help him go around he defenders easily. With his creative mind, he can not only help in the build-up to a goal but also execute one himself with his clinical finishing skills. He has a high work rate throughout the game as he also often tracks back to get the ball and defend with the team as well.

In the current season with Napoli Kvaratskhelia has scored 6 goals and assisted 7 in the 13 games he was featured in. Not only that he also helped Napoli finish on the first spot of the Champions League Group Stages over Liverpool. He scored 2 goals and assisted 3 in the five games played in the competition.

Despite his young age, Kvaratskhelia has already established himself as one of the brightest talents in only the half season that he has played in Serie A. Attracting interests from top European clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea and Liverpool. The winter transfer window just kicked off not long ago and he could very well choose to complete the season with Napoli or look for a switch to another club. With his potential and talent, Kvaratskhelia is expected to have a bright future in the game.
